Merita Laurél's artistic journey began in 2012 with a "journey abroad": her first steps in the "shark tank" of the music industry, leading to success as a consistently independent artist and entrepreneur, for whom her own integrity was always more important than instant fame. Little did she know at the time that her breakthrough would come abroad. This documentary portrays eight years as an artist abroad – from unexpected opportunities on the north coast of Africa to groundbreaking stops in Paris, a winter in the South of France, and the accompanying development of digital opportunities to stay in touch with her audience across continents and borders.
